DVD Kiosk Installation and Training

DVD Kiosk Site Preparation/Maintenance

The following services and assigned responsibilities represent the activities necessary to prepare and maintain the location for DVD kiosk operation. The text in bold fonts and underlined represents the responsible party.

Location Service Responsibility

  • Location preparation: DVD Kiosk location identification and preparation including moving any existing store equipment or furnishings. Customer
  • Electrical power: Installation, testing and maintenance of the required 120 Volt electrical power to the wall or floor outlet at the designated location where the DVD kiosk will be installed. Outlet must be on its own circuit. Customer
  • Internet Connection: Installation, testing and servicing of the required Cat5 network cabling to the wall or floor outlet at the designated location where the DVD kiosk will be installed Customer
  • CAT 5 network cabling: providing a CAT 5 network cable at the wall or floor internet connection. Unless specified in any other deployment documentation, the CAT 5 network cable must be 6 ft in length. Customer
  • Other site preparations: any and all site preparations not identified under Location Preparation, Electrical Power, Internet Connection. Customer
  • Site Preparation Document: VendVision will provide to the customer a Site Preparation document that will outline the physical, electrical and internet requirements for the site. This document will be based upon the hardware specifications identified in the contract and based upon the best available information to VendVision. Customer
  • Site Survey: VendVision Partner will provide to the customer a Site Preparation Checklist that will detail the tests required to certify the site as ready for DVD kiosk installation. The successful completion of all sections of this form and the return of this form through the channel(s) identified in the form will result in the site being designated ready for DVD kiosk deployment. VendVision will not engage in and/or will suspend or cancel any scheduled installations for which a completed Site Preparation Checklist has not been received by the time designated on the Project Plan. Costs incurred by VendVision for an aborted installation due to incorrect information on the Site Preparation Checklist will be borne by the party responsible for performing the Site Survey. If it is determined that the aborted installation is a result of activities performed after the Site Survey was performed, costs incurred by VendVision will be borne by the Customer

Kiosk Hardware Installation

The following services represent the activities necessary to install the DVD kiosk hardware at the scheduled DVD kiosk installation location during a kiosk deployment.

Service Responsibility

  • Kiosk positioning at the installation location: Moving the DVD kiosk from any storage or shipping area to the final installation location after delivery. Customer
  • Kiosk unpacking: Unpacking of the DVD kiosk at the final installation location from any shipping container, crating material or skids used to transport the DVD kiosk to the final location. Customer
  • Kiosk setup and connection: Connecting the DVD kiosk to the electrical, internet and any other connections required and provided for in the site preparation specifications. VendVision Partner
  • Hardware testing: Testing all DVD kiosk hardware components to ensure proper operation. VendVision Partner
  • Site clean up: removal of all DVD kiosk packaging material from final installation location that are not required for the operation of the DVD kiosk. Customer
  • Kiosk crate storage: storage of the DVD kiosk packing materials in the event the kiosk must be returned. Customer

Initial Kiosk Software Installation and Configuration

DVD kiosk software will be preinstalled prior to kiosk shipping from the kiosk manufacturer, however VendVision reserves the right to update or reinstall all software during DVD kiosk deployment if deemed necessary by VendVision.

On-Site Kiosk Operational Acceptance

The following services represent the activities necessary to prepare the DVD kiosk for and achieve operational acceptance at the final installation point.

  • Kiosk software testing: Testing of DVD kiosk software and hardware operation using a "Kiosk Installation and Testing" document provided to the installation technician. VendVision Partner
  • Kiosk health check: Performance of the kiosk health check using the "Kiosk Service Call and Health Check Form" in the presence of a customer representative. This form tests all of the hardware and software components required to verify DVD kiosk operational functionality. VendVision Partner
  • Kiosk health check verification: Presence during and verification of the kiosk health check performed by the installation technician. Sign off on this form is acceptance by the customer that the DVD kiosk is fully functional and operating as per the requirements agreed to by the customer.

On-site Kiosk Training

The following services represent the on-site training activities that will be performed for the kiosk project. On-site training will only be performed during an "On-site Software Deployment with Training" or "Service Call with Training" session. "On-site Software Deployment with Training" sessions will be either:

  • Part of an initial deployment phase. Costs associated with training in this case will be specified in the project contract as part of the deployment costing.
  • Part of a software update or patch deployment. Costs associated with training in this case will be specified in an Invoice from VendVision Partner.

"Service Call with Training" sessions will be:

  • Handled on a call by call basis and costs associated with training will be specified in an Invoice from VendVision Partner.

Service Responsibility

  • Training Personnel: VendVision will use contract service technicians or VendVision’s Personnel (the 'Trainer') that VendVision has trained in the operation of the DVD kiosk hardware and software. VendVision Partner
  • Training Agenda: preparation of an On-Site Training Agenda used by the Trainer to ensure complete coverage of all training topics. Distribution of the On-Site Training Agenda to the Trainer in advance of any on-site training sessions. VendVision Partner
  • Training class size limitations: class size during on-site training sessions will be limited to 2 customer representatives (the Trainees). Training for additional Trainees during onsite sessions must be arranged in advance with VendVision and will be billed to the customer at VendVision's training rate. VendVision Partner
  • Training time limitations: DVD kiosk training will be limited to 60 minutes. Additional training time requested by Trainees during on-site sessions will be requested by the Trainer to VendVision Partner who will in turn attempt to obtain verbal (or written) approval from the customer. Additional training time will be billed to the customer at VendVision's training rate. VendVision Partner
  • Training completion signoff: participation in and acceptance of training completion by the installation technician. Sign off on the "Training Completion Acceptance" form is acceptance by the customer that the training was completed to the acceptance of the senior representative of the customer present in the training session.
